#7 Visit Maldives National Museum

Established on the National Day of the Maldives, the first National Museum of the country was opened on 11 November 1952, by the Prime Minister at the time, Mohamed Amin Didi, the museum has a large collection of historical artefacts, ranging from stone objects to fragments of royal antiquities from the Buddhist era to the rule of Islamic monarchs.

The three-story museum (old building) is located in Sultan Park in Malé, which is part of the site of the Maldivian Royal Palace compound dating back to the 17th century. The two-storey Us-gēkolhu is the only remaining structure of the palace demolished by fire in 1968. Taking a walk through the rich history preserved at the National Museum is one of the favourite things to do in the Maldives

You can choose public transport which includes buses and taxis to reach the Museum. Sultan Park Bus Station is the nearest Bus Stop to this preserver of history.
